Hurling at Grennan College
- Hurling is a hugely important part of the extracurricular programme here in Grennan College. Training takes place on Wednesday evenings after school on our school pitch and students can avail of our lovely hurling pitch to practise their own hurling skills at lunchtime.
- Given the strength of GAA within the local community, with clubs such as Thomastown, Young Ireland's Gowran, Tullogher - Rosbercon, Bennettsbridge and The Rower Inistioge amongst others, it is no surprise that our teams compete at the top grades of Leinster and All Ireland competitions.
- Indeed, with a team full of past and present students, Thomastown's victory in the 2024 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Club Championship has only heightened the level of interest in our national sport in school. Thomastown's success, our Junior and Senior team's great run in the 2024/2025 season and the naming of past student John Donnelly as Kilkenny Senior Hurling Captain for the 2025 season has brought even more joy to the school community!
