Grennan College Parents' Association
The role of the Parent’s Association is set down in the Education Act 1998 as follows:
A Parents' Association shall promote the interests of the students in a school in co-operation with the board, principal, teachers and students.
As one of the educational partners, Grennan College Parents' Association plays an active role in the life of Grennan College. Our Parents' Association works with the Principal, staff and Board of Management to build effective co-operation and partnership between home and school. It is also involved in policy development, fundraising and student awards.
Our Parents' Association endeavours to:
- Be actively involved in developing and drafting school policies and in reviewing these policies on an ongoing basis
- Enhance the wellbeing of the students of the school through various initiatives
- Support parents/ guardians by arranging talks on topics of interest, e.g. supporting a child with anxiety
- Engage in fundraising following consultation with the Principal and Board of Management
- Support the provision of extracurricular activities for students
- Participate in the annual Student Awards Ceremony as follows:
- The Parents' Association presents the Berkley Cup to the student who achieves the highest grades in the Leaving Certificate
- The Parents' Association awards the Berkley Shield to a student who records a particular achievement in some discipline

Members of our Parents' Association held a coffee morning and made presentations to recent retirees, Seán Óg O'Sullivan (former Principal) and Miriam O'Donnell (former Deputy Principal) to celebrate their wonderful contribution to Grennan College.
